Every website platform makes you pick a side. Hand a developer a blank canvas — WordPress, raw code, whatever — and you get anything they can imagine, plus a plugin folder nobody wants to touch and a client who can accidentally delete the homepage. Hand a non-technical editor a website builder — the usual names, you know them — and nothing ever breaks, but nothing ever feels custom either. You're choosing a layout off a shelf.
We didn’t want that trade-off, so One Pixel splits the job in two. Developers build components with real code — any layout, any interaction, any idea. The person running the site gets a clean panel with exactly the fields that component needs. Nothing more, nothing that can be broken by accident.
Here’s a fairly direct way to prove it. This page — and the neon signs, the slot machine, the interactive map, the 3D mug you might’ve spun around a few sections back — wasn’t hand-built by our team for a demo. It was built live, section by section, by an AI assistant working through One Pixel’s own MCP server, one plain-English request at a time. It had the full run of the platform: real components, real code, complete freedom to build something strange just because it could. And when it was done, everything it made dropped straight into the same simple content fields anyone editing this site would see — a heading here, a color there.
